Trump attacker, Thomas Dimassimo, history of protests, anger, outrage
The protester who has been arrested after he tried to rush the stage while Donald Trump was speaking during a rally Saturday morning in Dayton, Ohio, has been identified as Thomas Dimassimo.
Dimassimo was charged with disorderly conduct and inducing panic, was released from custody and is due in court on Monday.
Trump was speaking at Dayton International Airport when the man attacked and Secret Service agents took the man down.
Trump was startled by the commotion, stopped his speech and was immediately surrounded by four Secret Service agents.
After about 30 seconds, as the man was pinned to the ground and then led away, Trump returned to the podium, shaking his head. The crowd first booed and then started chanting, “Trump, Trump, Trump,” and “USA, USA, USA.”
The incident came a day after protesters caused Trump to cancel a rally in Chicago.
