Travel in Style: Top Tips for Packing

Travel is a great experience, one that can only be improved by feeling great about yourself. Loving who you are and how you look is a great way to feel confident and automatically have a great time, and you can achieve this confidence no matter what your body type is. What matters is that you are comfortable, creative and that you follow this guide to help you pack your fashion-first travel wardrobe.

Type of Trip

The first thing you need to know when packing for a trip is what kind of trip you are going on. If you are planning for a cute vacation snuggled up in a log cabin and occasionally swimming in the nearby lake, you will be entirely unprepared for a series of hikes and even a bout of camping. Always ask and know what kind of trip you are going on in advance, and never make assumptions. This way you can pack accordingly and look great no matter what you are doing.

Length of Trip

Your next consideration should be how long your trip is. While a weekend trip is easy enough to pack for, going for longer than a week can pose some difficulties. You don’t want to pack too much, as this will become difficult to carry and cumbersome to bring with you. Instead, when you pack for longer trips be more mindful of how your garments go together. Longer trips will always require you to wash your clothes, which means choosing a complimentary wardrobe, or travel wardrobe is key.

Top Tips for Creating a Travel Wardrobe

Creating a travel wardrobe is relatively simple, you just need to be very strict with how much you bring with you. You must keep reminding yourself that you will wear each piece more than once, which is why style, color, and fabric all matter. By working out what you can bring earlier, you can figure out if you need to buy anything before the trip. For instance, if your bathing suit has seen better days, perhaps now is the time to look at new plus size bikini options that will help you rock the beach look. Or perhaps you need a classic maxi dress that will look great day or night. The more multi-purpose or more regularly you will wear the item, the more important it is to bring. That is why you will want to choose a color scheme, and breathable fabrics like cotton or linen, so that you can wear items more than once, even before a wash.

What to Remember When Choosing Pieces

The items you bring should be breathable, complimentary, and appropriate. If you are traveling to another country that you are not familiar with, it is always wise to check their cultural expectations. Take even a popular destination like Italy, for instance. You cannot enter any of their beautiful churches without being modestly dressed, which means shoulders covered in most cases. Bring a scarf with you so you can enter, and be respectful of their rules.

Travel is a privilege that so many around the world are taking advantage of, but by traveling lighter and by putting more effort into your travel wardrobe, you can actually travel easier, meaning you can get off the beaten path and explore at your own pace, whether you are backpacking or just waiting for your hotel’s check-in time.
