Trailer confirms ‘Avengers 4’ will be ‘Avengers End Game’ set for April 26
It’s finally here!
The long awaited trailer for Avengers 4 has arrived and confirmed the name for the film is Avengers End Game.
Following the tragic events at the end of The Avengers: Infinity War, End Game‘s tease starts with Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) adrift in space, ready to die as his oxygen is about the run out. He records a heartfelt message to his love, Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow). On Earth, half of the population is gone and the remaining Avengers mourn and scheme.
Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson are all seen as Jeremy Renner’s character is revealed, and yes, comic book fans will recognize the Ronin costume and weaponry. Blink and you may miss the shot of Karen Gillan’s Nebula, a survivor of Thanos’ snap.
The Russo brothers direct from the film scripted by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely (Captain America: Civil War). The directors were asked and lied about the title, which clearly comes from Doctor Strange, who clearly says, “We’re in the endgame now” during Infinity War.
The trailer is likely cut out of order and this sequence will come after the Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) appearance from the end of the trailer.
“This is going to work, Steve,” Natasha tells Captain America. “I know it is,” he replies, “because I don’t know what I’m going to do if it doesn’t.”
Fans shouldn’t expect another trailer until Captain Marvel, who was absent from the film, but is key to the franchise’s future.
Avengers: Endgame now arrives on April 26, 2019.
