Online Surveys

Online survey sites such as Survey Junkie are a good choice for people who are unemployed when it comes to earning a little extra money. Although you probably won’t be able to make a massive income from simply taking online surveys, it can be a great way of getting an extra fifty dollars or so a month to help you out. Most online surveys are easy to take and can be done from home as long as you have a working internet connection. The more surveys you take, the more you will be able to earn.

Rent Out a Room

If you’re lucky enough to have a spare room in your home, renting it out can be a good way of earning yourself some extra money. Although taking on a lodger full-time might not be ideal for everybody, there are plenty of opportunities to rent out your spare room on a short-term basis, for example on sites such as Airbnb.

Start a Blog

More and more people are turning to blogging these days as a method of making an income. When you are unemployed, blogging can be a great way to make some extra cash and could even turn into your primary source of income, meaning that you won’t be unemployed any longer. Blogging is an excellent choice when it comes to making an income online when unemployed as you can choose literally any topic under the sun to blog about. Along with that, being unemployed actually gives you an advantage as a blogger as you have more time to dedicate to building your blog.

Mystery Shopping

If you are looking for work whilst unemployed, mystery shopping can be a great way to bring in a little extra income on the side and could even turn into your full-time career. Mystery shoppers go to retail stores or even purchase things online to review them and leave their thoughts on how the service went and whether or not the product lived up to expectations. Since you are usually subsided for anything that you buy as a mystery shopper, it can also be a great way to get free items for yourself.

Trying to find a job when you are unemployed is never easy. But, there are plenty of things you can do to boost your income that could even result in a full-time career.
