Top Skin Benefits Of Wet Shaving

Many guys over the last several years have picked up a safety razor or a straight razor to replace they’re multi blade cartridge razors.

There are several reasons why the guys are making the switch that we are going to get into today.

Keep reading to see if switching to wet shaving could be right for you.

Saves Money

One of the best reasons for the switch is that what shaving is less expensive in the long run than using your typical multi blade cartridge razors.

The new 3 and 5 blade disposable razors missing relatively inexpensive up front. However, you will quickly find yourself paying four to five dollars per refill.

Each refill might last a week so you’re paying about a dollar per shave.

When you switch to a safety razor you may spend upwards of about $30 for a decent razor. But this will last several years if you take care of it.

The disposable safety razor blades that go inside can be found for around $0.10 a piece. They should also last you 3 to 5 shaves.

So, if you can do the math, you’re potentially looking at a couple hundred dollars a year and savings.

Less Irritation

Another reason why guys are switching to wet shaving is that it causes less irritation. Multi blade cartridge razors are well designed so that is hard to cut yourself.

However, this causes guys to apply too much pressure or go over the same area multiple times which can cause redness and irritation.

Safety razors have much more blade exposure so you’re actually not supposed to apply any pressure at all. The weight of the razor will do most of the work.

You can actually cut yourself quite easily, so when you begin using a safety razor you should have a good level of caution.

However, do not fear, it is not that difficult to learn the technique and you’ll be well on your way to a better shave in no time.

Less Chemicals

If you simply go shopping at your local supermarket you have probably been fooled into grabbing whichever can of shaving cream looks the best or cheapest. However, for these aerosol type cans to work they have to be loaded with many chemicals that can end up on your skin.

When switching to wet shaving a lot of guys will start looking for handcrafted shaving soaps and creams.

These need to be whipped into their own lather with a shaving brush which will add a few more minutes to your shaving routine.

But most guys seem to enjoy this process and appreciate a more natural soap.

Less Razor Burn

The disposable razors are actually too good at removing your hair. Often times they cut the hair below the skin surface as they pull up on the hair before they cut it.

If you have curly hair as it starts to grow back, it can grow back into your skin causing inflammation that we know as razor bumps.

Any guys who suffers from this, knows it is very uncomfortable condition.

Since the safety razor just has one blade, you have much more control on the level of closeness of your shave.

If you experience razor burn then you can simply perform one pass with the grain to get the look of a close shave without the irritation.

However, if you do require a baby butt smooth shave, you can perform two additional passes for a close shave.

These are just a handful of reasons of why you might want to switch to wet shaving. Check out the infographic below to learn about many other reasons.

Most guys who switched tend to stick to wet shaving instead of going back to the multi blade cartridge razor. Yes, it will add a few minutes to your morning shave routine, however you will most likely find yourself starting to enjoy shaving versus feeling like a chore.
