Tons of new footage in ‘Finding Dory’ trailer
A new, international trailer has been released for Disney and Pixar’s forthcoming film, Finding Dory, a long-awaited sequel to the popular 2003 film Finding Nemo. This teaser offers up a ton of new footage not released in the U.S. trailers.
Finding Dory centers on the amnesia plagued Blue Tang voiced by Ellen DeGeneres. Dory now embarks on a quest across the Pacific ocean to find her parents after a chance mention of “home” triggers suppressed memories of her family. The journey takes Dory to a marine life institute in California, where she teams up with a new companion, a surly octopus named Hank, voiced by Ed O’Neill, to track down her lost belonging.
Finding Dory is directed by Finding Nemo co-director Andrew Stanton and joining the adventure is Ty Burrell (as beluga whale Bailey) and Kaitlin Olson (as eyesight-impaired whale shark Destiny). Newcomers Diane Keaton and Eugene Levy voice her parents and Idris Elba (who plays a lazy sea lion opposite his The Wire costar Dominic West) are also cast in the new film.
Plenty of voices from the original film will also return to reprise their roles, including Albert Brooks as Marlin, Bob Peterson as Mr. Ray, and Stanton as sea turtle Crush. Weeds star Alexander Gould, voiced Nemo in 2003, but is now 21, therefore was replaced as young Nemo by 11-year-old Hayden Rolence
Finding Dory arrives in theaters on June 17, 2016.
