Tom Hanks stars with Felicity Jones, Ben Foster in first ‘Inferno’ teaser

Tom Hanks is back as the Dan Brown protagonist Robert Langdon in Inferno, the third in the series with director Ron Howard. Hanks stars with a great cast: Felicity Jones, Ben Foster, Irrfan Khan and Omar Sy.

Sony has released the first trailer for Inferno, attempting to showcase the film’s action as the symbologist Langdon wakes up in Florence, Italy with a shocking case of amnesia. Partnering with Sienna Brooks (Jones), Langdon races against time to stop a deadly plague which will ““solve” the world’s overpopulation problem.

Inferno follows The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons with Hanks and Howard delivering the Brown adaptations.

Fans will be excited to see Foster as the villain, a super-rich scientist Bertrand Zobrist. Khan stars as Harry Sims a.k.a. “The Provost” with Omar Sy as Christoph Bruder; and Sidse Babett Knudsen as World Health Organization head Dr. Elizabeth Sinskey.

Inferno drops into theaters October 28.

Synopsis: Academy Award® winner Ron Howard returns to direct the latest bestseller in Dan Brown’s (Da Vinci Code) billion-dollar Robert Langdon series, Inferno, which finds the famous symbologist (again played by Tom Hanks) on a trail of clues tied to the great Dante himself. When Langdon wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia, he teams up with Sienna Brooks (Felicity Jones), a doctor he hopes will help him recover his memories. Together, they race across Europe and against the clock to foil a deadly global plot.
