Thousands turnout at Tampa Repticon: Lizards, snakes, hedgehogs oh my

Tampa “herpers” gathered for Repticon at the Florida State Fairgrounds, enjoying massive or strange looking creatures.

Known as Repticon Tampa, this is one of the large events for herpetology hobby enthusiasts, pet owners, exotic animal lovers and much, much more.

Aisles of vendors offering the latest in exotic species of reptiles, amphibians and many other interesting animals.

There were hourly seminars and fans packed the hall to ask questions, handled these rare animals and even just pose for a quick photo.

Sure there were plenty of snakes and bearded dragons on display, but there were also hedgedogs, chameleons, tons of frogs, rats and millipede or two.

A non-profit called Croc Encounters drew a continuous crowd as an alligator was made available for photos and physical contact. The crowd flowed evenly during the show to get a chance for a quick touch or photograph.
