‘Thor Ragnarok’ Blu-Ray extras highlight the talented Taika Waititi
Marvel hit gold with their third Thor film, Thor: Ragnarok, and the new Blu-Ray, 4K release includes a ton of behind-the-scenes looks to please fans and highlight the talented director Taika Waititi.
It’s Waititi who is credited with the bright colors, high octane music and energy of Ragnarok.
Chris Hemsworth returns as Thor and battles a demon named Surtur to end the prophesy of Ragnarok, which predicts the destruction of his home, Asgard. Thor slays the beast and returns home to find his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) missing and his mischievous brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) disguised and in Odin’s place.
Loki and Thor meet Doctor Strange as their return to Earth, find Odin dying and then their long-imprisoned sister Hela (Cate Blanchett). Hela wastes no time dispatching the pair and attacking Asgard. Thor lands on Sakaar, planet run by the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) who selects Thor to battle his arena champion, the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo).
Thor partners with Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie, Hulk and Loki to get back to Asgard and battle Hela.
The visuals and audio on the Blu-ray bring the theatrical experience to life. The Hulk vs Thor arena scene is just tremendous. A full list of the extras is at the bottom and this is where Waititi gains a more significant credit for the film’s success.
Taika is praised by the cast, jokes and cuts up on these extras, pulling in outtakes/bloopers from the production.
Thor: Ragnarok is just a great, fun film and the fans should flock to get a copy and then binge on those extras. Since Avengers: Infinity War picks right up with Ragnarok ends, it seems important to the MCU fans to get plugged in.
