‘Thor 3’ rumors: 2017 release, Enchantress, Ragnarok, Chris Hemsworth and more Tom Hiddleston

Marvel fans know a third Thor film is coming, but there has been no official word on a release or major changes to the franchise. Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Idris Elba, Jaimie Alexander and Tom Hiddleston are all expected to be back, but it may be a while actor to the Australia lead actor.

“Yeah I got a lot of time. I don’t think it’s just yet, Thor 3. I think it’s a ways away,” Hemsworth said at SDCC when asked about returning for Thor 3.

Marvel announced their schedule (see it below) which extends to 2019 and fans were quick to earmark 2017 as the return of the Norse God.

Screenrant said that Marvel’s decision to hold off a third Thor film was probably because of the Hemsworth’s schedule. The site wrote, “Let’s not forget that Hemsworth is a busy guy, with plenty of films on his slate already. Apart from picking up the hammer again for next year’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, he’s starring in Michael Mann’s Blackhat and Ron Howard’s Heart of the Sea, he’s rumored for Shane Black’s Doc Savage, and he’s taking over the Snow White and the Huntsman franchise with his own Huntsman-centric spin-off in 2016.”

Marvel has confirmed that the screenwriters have already been hired, and one of them is Marvel’s former senior vice president for production and development, Craig Kyle. Kyle will be penning the script together with Christopher Yost, whose previous work includes Thor: The Dark World.

Kevin Feige, President of Production for Marvel Studios, also has this to say about hiring Craig Kyle, “I am proud of Craig have enjoyed working with him over the past three years. His creative instincts have helped shaped Thor and Thor: The Dark World at every level of the filmmaking process”.

Movie Pilot website writes the Ragnarok will be part of the film as Thor could again be seen fighting his brother and will also be seen saving his own world. In another rumor it is learned the upcoming movie will feature a new main character. It will be based on its comic version and to be named as Amora the Enchantress.
