F-bomb insult on receipt results Burger King manager, employee getting fired

A Burger King manager and an employee are being fired after a Sacramento man got a receipt that contained an offensive message, the company said Wednesday.

Francisco Perez said upon ordering food at the Arden Way restaurant, he received a receipt that said “f— you.”

“Burger King Corp. (BKC) and the franchisee that owns and operates this restaurant deeply regret that this incident occurred,” Burger King represenative Denise T. Wilson said in a prepared statement. “The franchisee has taken immediate corrective action and both the manager and employee are being terminated. The franchisee will be reaching out to the guest directly.”

Perez told KCRA 3 he got the receipt after spending $9.22 on a Double Whopper with cheese, onion rings and a small drink.

“I looked at the receipt and it says ‘f— you’ on it,” explained Perez, who noted that the four-letter curse word was spelled TWICE.

“Actually, I’m embarrassed,” Perez said. “It’s humiliating.”

Perez said he did nothing to provoke the workers and that the firings were justified.

“All I did was place my order and I got a ‘f— you’ burger,” Perez said.

One worker who gave her name only as “Megan” said she knows the two people whose names are printed on the customer receipt.

“They’re both really nice people,” she said. “I’m sure they didn’t mean it toward the customer. … They were probably just joking around.”

KCRA 3 went to the Burger King on Tuesday to get an explanation.

“That’s not acceptable,” said Blong Xiong, the shift manager at the Burger King.

Perez said Burger King has offered him vouchers for free food, but that he never plans to eat there again.
