‘The Walking Dead’ season 7 adds Naomi, ‘the grandmother’ and a new teen named Jennie

The Walking Dead is adding a couple new characters for the upcoming Season 7 and both sound like characters from the current cast or from the show’s past.

According to TV Line, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and the cast of zombie survivors who managed to not be killed Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) will be joined by two new characters now present in the comic books.

Naomi is described as a “grandmotherly type” who has outlived many of her loved ones and has vowed to do whatever it takes to not bury any more. Fans will note that this sounds a lot like Carol (Melissa McBride).

Chandler Riggs’ Carl will be getting a friend/love interest as TWD adds Jennie, a teenager who is kind and positive, but is also toughened up from the apocalypse. Jennie sounds like the anti-Enid or Beth 2.0.

The Walking Dead will be adding the new characters in the sixth episode of Season 7, and neither role has been cast yet.

BTW, for fans trying to figure out who killed Negan, a death scene for each character was filming to keep the fans guessing.

The Walking Dead is expected to return this October on AMC.
