‘The Flash’ adds ‘The Game’ actress Candice Patton as Iris West
The CW has added another cast member to the Arrow spin-off The Flash. Candice Patton is the latest addition after a pair of new cast members were just added for The CW Pilot.
Deadline reports that Patton has joined the cast of The Flash will play Iris West, Allen’s fast-talking, quick-witted best friend who is also the daughter of Detective West (Jesse L Martin), who serves as a surrogate father to Barry (Grant Gustin.)
Patton is most widely known for her role on The Game, but has a long list of other TV appearances including Heroes, Sorority Forever, Entourage and three daytime soap operas.
Cosnett plays star Detective Eddie Thawne, a recent transfer to the Central City Police Department, whose past is a mystery and who harbors a dark secret. Panabaker plays Caitlin Snow, a highly intelligent bioengineering expert who lost her fiancé during an explosion at S.T.A.R. Labs.
Cosnett is recurring heavily on the CW flagship drama Vampire Diaries as Doc and Panabaker has a role on the popular FX series Justified.
Cosnett’s role is certain to be Professor Zoom/Reverse Flash and Panabaker as Killer Frost – more here
The CW now will film Flash as a standalone pilot in a bid to launch “with a bang like we launched Arrow,” CW president Mark Pedowitz told reporters last week at the TCA winter press tour.
