‘The Fantastic Four’ cast Tim Blake Nelson as Harvey Elder, the Mole Man
20th Century Fox added another cast member for their reboot of the Marvel super team The Fantastic Four.
Heat Vision reports that Tim Blake Nelson is in final talks to join The Fantastic Four. The article reminds casual readers that “Elder, an eccentric and socially awkward scientist. In comics lore, Elder is actually the Mole Man, shunned by humanity and leader of a subterranean group of monsters known as the Moloids.”
While speaking with the Tulsa World, the actor confirmed his involvement in The Fantastic Four, saying “it’s pretty much closed,” and expressed his enthusiasm at being added to the cast.
“I absolutely loved working on Hulk and feel extremely blessed that Marvel, Fox, and especially (Fantastic Four director) Josh Trank and his team have invited me back into the universe. The script is excellent. It has real heart, and it shows a true understanding of what it is to be a burgeoning adult geeked out to the margins.”
Nelson already has past Marvel experience having played a key character in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. Blake Nelson reveals that the story is a great balance of action and heart.
“Without going into detail, the script has as much soul as it does action, and it has a lot of action. We’re all going to have blast making it.”
Simon Kinberg wrote the script and is producing with Hutch Parker.
Directed by Trank and co-starring Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Bell, Miles Teller and Toby Kebbell, The Fantastic Four will open in theaters on June 19, 2015.
