‘The Dark Knight Rises’ adds another cast member, Josh Stewart

Warner Bros. continues to create buzz for their 2012 Batman film: “The Dark Knight Rises”. Today Josh Stewart has been confirmed as part of the cast for “Rises”.

Variety reports that Stewart, star of “The Collector”, will join Matthew Modine, Tom Conti, Joey King, Brett Cullen, Chris Ellis, Daniel Sunjata, Diego Klattenhoff and Burn Gorman all newcomers to the superhero franchise. Stewart is best known for his roles on NBC’s “Third Watch,” FX’s “Dirt” and most recently, on ABC’s “No Ordinary Family.” Thesp is currently filming a sequel to “The Collector” titled “The Collection,” and recently wrapped a feature adaptation of the ’60s TV series “The Big Valley.”

Director Christopher Nolan continues to control the details of the project, so Stewart’s role is being kept under wraps.

“The Dark Knight Rises” will return Christian Bale for his third run as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred, Morgan Freeman as Lucious Fox, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon, Joseph Gordon Levitt as a young Gotham cop, Anne Hathaway as Selena Kyle/Catwoman, Marion Cotillard as eager Wayne Enterprises employee Miranda Tate, Tom Hardy as the villain Bane and Josh Pence as a young Ra’s al Ghul.

Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures will release “The Dark Knight Rises” on July 20, 2012.
