‘The Crow’ reboot: Kristen Stewart out, ‘Walking Dead’ star Norman Reedus in as ‘James’
The long winding road of casting and director changes for The Crow reboot finally appears to be concluding with Luke Evans cast as the lead and other casting news coming soon.
Cinema Blend reports that “a source close to the production” has revealed that Kristen Stewart was considered for a part in the film, but producers eventually passed on her as they “didn’t believe she would help draw a crowd.”
Stewart would have played the love interest Shelley, who dies alongside the main character.
Schmoes Know are reporting that the Walking Dead star, Norman Reedus, is up for a role in the ongoing reboot of The Crow.
The site clarifies that they don’t believe Reedus would be up for the part of Eric Draven, the rocker who turns into an angel of vengeance. Instead, he’s being considered for the part of “James,” without anyone really knowing who “James” would be in the new story just yet.
F. Javier Gutierrez will direct The Crow from a script by Cliff Dorfman. Production is slated for early 2014.
