The best fashion trends for men in Fall 2018

It’s been an exhausting fashion year for men in 2018, and with the autumn lines beginning to hit the front pages again, it’s time to look forward to your fall look. There are some very strong fashion trends this year, and their diversity means that there is plenty of scope to play with your wardrobe selection and get the most from the catwalk options. With practically the buzzword of this year’s fashion calendar, it’s going to be just as important deciding on function as much as look, so here’s a useful guide to making sure that you avoid any fashion disasters.

The 80s are back

It would be pretty hard to have missed the 80s theme this year. Even Hollywood is getting in on the nostalgia hype, so it’s no surprise that the decade of excess is making its presence felt in store windows. The good thing about 80s fashion is that there’s a look to suit everyone. You could opt for some baggy suits with some strong shoulder padding, or embrace your inner punk with some torn, bleached Levis. Both looks are going to work this fall, and the distinctive styles are going to mean that you stand out no matter the occasion. Keep an eye on faux animal prints and skinny ties, and you’ll be ahead of the trend.

Getting outdoorsy

The most popular new trend this year is the outdoors look, which is perfect for those that like to mix and match their clothing options. Even better, the sheer range of possibilities available means that you aren’t going to have a problem finding something that suits your overriding style. Hiking clothes are the big fashion look this fall, and from sturdy boots by Louis Vuitton to backpacks by Quicksilver, you’re not going to struggle to find something within budget. For the best results, make brown your color of choice, as it’s been making a comeback in 2018 and when combined with the flexibility of the outdoors style, makes for a stylish yet practical wardrobe that will see you right through the colder months.

Facial hair

You can’t have failed to notice the prevalence of the beard in the last five years. They’re simply everywhere, and chances are that you’re sporting your very own face fuzz right now. Get set to buy some razors, because there are facial hair changes coming this fall. While beards remain on the edges of staying trendy, this fall looks set to do some tidying up. The fresh look is coming back, but that doesn’t mean getting rid of the beard completely. Goatees and the Tom Selleck mustache are becoming the facial hair of choice this year, and with stars like George Clooney and Brad Pitt already leading the way, treat yourself to a professional shave with Merchant & Rhoades, and find a barber Chicago for the ultimate in trending locations.

It’s never too early to start paying attention to the next season’s look. With so many distinctive styles to choose from and plenty of potential for mixing and matching, this fall looks set to be very distinctive indeed.
