‘The Americans’ season 2: Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys adapt as ‘this year is going to be more about family’
Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys will return in February as two Soviet intelligence agents living in the US as regular American citizens during the Cold War. The married couple running Russian ops stateside with their two children across the street from a key playing in the FBI (Noah Emmerich).
”Elizabeth tries to be a family, but it’s not so easy,” says series creator Joe Weisberg with Entertainment Weekly. ”If last season was all about them and their marriage, we felt this year is going to be more about family and kids.”
Season one ends with Stan getting too close, injuring Elizabeth as her mission was compromised. Their daughter Paige is increasingly suspicious of her parents’ activities and Nina handed over a file on Stan.
The first seven episode titles offer no insight but are called: Comrades, Cardinal, The Walk In, A Little Night Music, The Deal, Behind the Red Door and ARPANET.
The Americans season 2 begins Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 10 p.m. on FX
