Texas: Sisters Jacquelyn Morrell, Regina Culbert identified as victims in murder suicide
Police have identified a pair of sisters as victims in a Texas murder suicide on Tuesday, killed by one of the women’s husbands.
Killeen police detailed the deaths of the two women and a man, identifying them as Jacquelyn Leonna Morrell, 38, her husband Wiley Stephen Morrell, 38, and her sister, Regina Diane Culbert, 24
The shooting Sunday afternoon at the Killeen home evidently stemmed from a dispute between Morrell and his wife, police said.
“The detectives learned that there was a domestic disturbance occurring when the male produced a handgun and shot his wife,” police spokeswoman Carroll Smith said.
Culbert, 24, “was fleeing the residence when the male shot her,” Smith said. The man returned inside to turn the gun on himself.
Other people including children were in the home at the time, but weren’t injured.
Officers responded to the home and found Culbert lying in the driveway with a gunshot wound to her body.
She was taken to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, but was later pronounced dead.
Inside the home, officers found the bodies of Jacquelyn and Wiley Morrell.
I love my family.
