Texas protester: Joseph Fishburn arrested for ‘F police’ slashing tires and vandalism
A north Texas man has been arrested for vandalizing property and a Denton police car with a “F*ck the Police” message and other acts of vandalism. Check out the photo below.
Joseph Porter Fishburn allegedly spray-painted the anti-police message on the car and slashed all four tires, according to officials.
Officers with the Denton Police Department had placed a marked but unmanned police cruiser along a highway to deter speeders. Figuring out that the car was empty, Fishburn broke the spotlight on the car, painted an anarchist symbol and profanities.
According to CBSDFW-11 in Dallas, a caller notified police of the vandalized vehicle at about 6 a.m. The Denton Police tweeted out photos of the vandalized patrol car and Fishburn was arrested after fingerprints from the scene were linked to the man.
The man admitted to the crime during an interview with investigators, Officer Orlando Hinjosa said. Fishburn now faces misdemeanor charges for criminal mischief over $750, Hinojosa said.
The damage was estimated at $2,500.
Fishburn had three previous arrests for evading arrest or detention with a vehicle. Police are not searching for any other suspects, Hinojosa said.
The anti-Trump movement has been riddled with stories of violence, riots, arrests and attacks on police. Trump’s surprising victory last week has sparked outrage, but has been criticized after many of the protesters confessed to not even voting. Details compiled in Oregon HERE
