‘Terminator Dark Fate’ trailer, poster highlight Linda Hamilton’s return
James Cameron‘s The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day are two of the most popular action films of all-time and now the famous director returns to the franchise as a producer and teased fans with details as a new trailer dropped.
Terminator: Dark Fate is directed by Tim Miller (Deadpool), centering the film around Linda Hamilton’s return as Sarah Connor to continue her vengeance quest against Skynet, now partnering with Mackenzie Davis and Natalia Reyes. Arnold Schwarzenegger is back in a possible dual role
The trailer starts with a voiceover belonging to Dani Ramos (Reyes), “Two days ago, I had this nice simple life.”
Gabriel Luna (Ghost Rider on Agent of SHIELD) plays the new Terminator – check out the trailer below.
Here’s Cameron on the new film: “I think the best way to think about Terminator: Dark Fate is to think about it as a direct sequel to Terminator 2, the third film in a series, if you will. We’ll be continuing with Sarah’s story, John’s story, and the T-800 returns — a different T-800 with a very different role to play than what we’ve seen before.”
Later adding: “I think, tonally, what makes this a direct sequel to T1 and T2is as much about the tone as it is about the narrative: It’s R rated, it’s grim, it’s gritty, it’s fast, it’s intense, it’s very linear. The whole story takes place in 36 hours. It’s not this kind of grandiose, complex story. It’s just very focused on the characters, it’s very now, it’s very present and it’s just a fast white-knuckle ride.”
Schwarzenegger pointed to him actually reprising the role of the T-800 rather than a regular human.
Diego Boneta stars as the brother of Reyes’ character.
Terminator: Dark Fate is set to arrive in theaters on November 1, 2019.
