Tennessee: Amy Williams killed in murder suicide by boyfriend Andrew Tucker
A man fatally shot his ex-girlfriend outside her east Nashville home Saturday before turning the gun on himself, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.
Amy Williams, 41, was identified by police, fatally wounded outside her home by ex-boyfriend Andrew Tucker.
Tucker, 40, attacked the woman as she was talking to her visiting sister as she was preparing to leave when Tucker drove by, then turned around and parked his truck near Williams’ home. She walked over to Tucker and talked to him for about five minutes before shots were fired, according to police.
Multiple witnesses told police there was no shouting or confrontation prior to the gunfire.
Tucker, who was last known to live on South 12th Street, walked toward his truck and turned the gun on himself, police said.
He died at the scene.
Williams was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she died.
Williams and Tucker had been in a dating relationship for four months before she ended it a week ago, police said.
The police department’s Domestic Violence Division had no prior interaction involving Williams and Tucker.
