‘Team Hot Wheels: The Origin of Awesome’ is a great time for the family
Fans of Hot Wheels will have a great time at Fathom’s new Team Hot Wheels event.
This special event opened with an inside look at the movie’s development. The viewer got to see the Hot Wheels develop from a simple set of black lines until the streamlined Hot Wheels my son loves to play with are brought to life. We discovered some of the symbolism the characters carry with them. Like the 68 on Gauge’s shirt. It stands for 1968, the year Mattel introduced the die-cast toy car.
Gauge and his friends are four awesome boys who form Team Hot Wheels. Their rad go-carts are transformed into Hot Wheels in a secret lab beneath the auto shop they all work in. The Team Hot Wheels mission? To catch a mysterious fast car that leaves orange track in its wake and return boring Hilly Woodlands back to peace and order. And to learn to work together as a team.
The boys learn to work together and restore order to the now super exciting and newly renamed “Hot Wheels City”. In the end; they did a truly good deed, they saved the town from being mundane.
This event was a great way to spend some time with the family and beat the heat. The movie kept my 7 year old son on the edge of his seat. It also led to an afternoon of Hot Wheels on the back yard.
