Tax returns reveal Clinton mostly donate to themselves to avoid taxes, use the same ‘Trump write offs’
Hillary and Bill Clinton’s tax returns have been public since 1992 and while Donald Trump is under fire for using a business loss as a massive write off for subsequent years (the same tactic used by the Clintons, see below) it’s also noteworthy of how uncharitable the Clintons are. Moreover, a closer look reveals they use this same “Trump write-off” and approximately 99% of all of their charitable giving is to the Clinton Foundation/Global Initiative.
Examining just their 2007-2014 tax returns, which indicate the income total of $139 million over eight years ($17.4 million a year on average) there is a total of $15 million, or 10.8% of their adjusted gross income, went to charity. Of the $15 million, $14.9 million of which went to the Clinton Family Foundation and the Clinton Global Initiative.
The Tax History Project publishes all of these returns are easily examined. In fact, it only took a moment to see that the Clinton use the EXACT same tactic as Donald Trump to write down capital gains losses from previous years. A look back at Hillary Clinton’s tax returns from 2015 (here), shows a write off of $699,540 on page 17.
In 2015, $1 million went to The Clinton Family Foundation and $42,000 to the Desert Classic Charities. Of course, they proudly connect the dots to the Former First Lady: Desert Classic Charities, the local non-profit entity that has organized the Humana Challenge in partnership with the Clinton Foundation (formerly the Bob Hope Classic) for 53 years, today presented 40 Coachella Valley charities with more than $2 million in donations, the charitable proceeds raised from January’s Humana Challenge PGA TOUR golf tournament. (emphasis added, The Dispatch). [This was the similar to 2013’s return]
During 2014, Bill and Hillary earned a gross income of over $28 million, claiming $3,022,700 in charitable giving and used the “Trump write-off” of $702, 540. $3 million of their donations went to the Clinton Foundation, here’s the rest. There is a High School class donation and $22,500 to two different churches (not even 1% of their income).
This was misreported by the Desert News when they stated: “Among those who have made their recent tax returns public, Republican Carly Fiorina and Democrat Hillary Clinton — the two women in the race — are the only candidates who pass the tithing test (10 percent of their income), with Fiorina donating 13 percent in 2013 and Clinton giving 11 percent in 2014.” (emphasis added, The Dispatch)
Turning back the clock to 1993, the Clinton’s donated $17,000 to charity (less than half of their deducted moving expenses), listed as “Various organizations by check” and there doesn’t appear to be details on the 1994 return with a similar finding in 1995 ($30K to charity).
When students at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, asked that Hillary Clinton return her $225,000 speaking fee, Clinton noted that “all of the fees have been donated to the Clinton Foundation for it to continue its life-changing and life-saving work.”
“So it goes from a foundation at a university to another foundation,” Clinton told ABC News, with regard to the UNLV speech.
Total speaking fees in 2014 by Hillary: $10,492, 000, after expenses is was $8,761,374 – quite a bit more than the $3 million given to the Foundation. Not to mention that Bill earned a separate $8 million as well for speaking.
Just a personal note, nothing that the Clintons are doing is illegal, but don’t throw stones in the glass house. You are not charitable, you are not a giver and you use the same tax loopholes that Trump uses to allocate losses to pay less federal tax.
Congratulations on being either gleefully and proudly ignorant, or the same sort of pathological liar that is systemic in the republikunt frat party.
Which facts or link is such a lie? I am NEVER Trump so please be careful just hurling insults.
