Tanzanian police recover Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta’s stolen vehicle
The Tanzanian People’s Defense Force (TPDF) has arrested two Kenyan nationals for the illegal possession of a top-range sports utility vehicle stolen recently reported from Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The suspects, who are Kenyans, were arrested while driving the car into the Kilimanjaro Province of Tanzania after smuggling it from neighboring Kenya.
Kilimanjaro Provincial police commander Hamisi Issah said fake registration plates were used to smuggle the vehicle from Kenya to Tanzania.
“The car, Nissan Patrol V-8, was stolen in Kenya. We have interrogated the suspects and their statements do not add up,” Issah said.
Three years ago, a BMW luxury vehicle that was seized by hijackers from President Kenyatta escort convoy was recovered in the Ugandan capital Kampala.
