Tamerlan Tsarnaev wife, Katherine Russell, under investigation after female DNA found on bomb
Shocking news came Monday when female DNA was found on the fragments of the IEDs discovered by the Terrorist Explosive Devices Analytical Center. Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s wife has been asked to submit a DNA swab to determine if the sample belongs to her.
There was a chance that the fragment had been handled at some point by a sales clerk who sold the pressure cooker or by somebody who retrieved the fragment. It was even possible that the piece had horribly been blown clear through some innocent victim.

This file image from a Federal Bureau of Investigation and Department of Homeland Security joint bulletin, shows the remains of a pressure cooker that the FBI says was part of one of the bombs that exploded during the Boston Marathon
His wife, Katherine Russell, reportedly has complied and the results will either lead to her arrest or go a long, long way to silence critics who call her an investigation into her involvement.
The FBI is there as part of our ongoing investigation, but we aren’t permitted to discuss specific aspects of the case,” said FBI spokesman Jason Pack.
Russell has been staying with her parents since the bombings, and FBI agents have been seen posted outside the house since her late husband was identified as one of the bombers. Her lawyer has said she is “doing everything she can to assist with the investigation.”
TEDAC has processed more than 80,000 IEDs from the overseas war on terror. Technicians subjected the fragments from this domestic bombing to a series of forensic tests that included DNA.
If her DNA doesn’t match, that will hardly “silence the critics” as that alone won’t clear her.
