Suspect 2 Ahmed Jones arrested in connection to murder of New York deli worker Hisham Zidan
Police have confirmed they have arrested the second suspect in the murder of a New York deli worker.
Ahmed Jones, age 30, has been charged with murder and burglary in connection with the death of Hisham Zidan, police state. Zidan was discovered in the basement bathroom of a Stanley Avenue deli on January 10. Initials reports describe his injuries as “a gruesome cut and bruising on his forehead.”
Reports state that the cash register was knocked onto the floor and the owner of the store confirmed cash, cigarettes and store’s security system were stolen. The thieves entered through the back door, but were filmed by some nearby close-circuit cameras.
The man was working an overnight shift alone when he was attacked.
Police have Amir Alawadi, age 19, in custody and charged in the case. Authorities are stating that a third suspect is now the focus of the investigation.
The store’s owner says Zidan work to support his wife and family who remained in Jordan, dreaming of reuniting with them as he recently announced his application for US citizenship.
