Stephen Amell set to get a mask in ‘Arrow’ season 2, first look Barry Allen aka Flash
The Arrow, formerly known as The Hood, played by Stephen Amell, will start to resemble the comic book character Green Arrow more and more.
Entertainment Weekly broke the news this week, with a pair of photos, that Amell’s character will get a mask and ditch the eye makeup approach. The creators of the show have discussed the mask and the movement towards a resemblance to the beloved comic book character, but describe it as a “journey.”
“Conceptually, it was something we wanted to do because Oliver himself is evolving as the Arrow– from vigilante to hero, sort of from Arrow to Green Arrow — and we wanted to see that progression in his costume as well. As Oliver is embracing being a hero, being a hero means stepping out of the dark and being more of a symbol, so he has to take steps to conceal his identity more.”
Additionally, fans get a first look at Barry Allen aka Flash who will debut during season 3 as well.
Grant Gustin is Barry Allen, aka The Flash, will make an appearance in the December 4 episode titled “The Scientist” and in the December 11 episode and reportedly begin the launch of his own CW series.
