Stephen Amell says he’s ‘not’ on ‘Batman v Superman,’ sounds focused on ‘Arrow’ season 3
Arrow star Stephen Amell is insisting that he will not be in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, countering may rumors claiming it’s a done deal.
Amell posted to his fans on Facebook to respond to recent rumors that his version of Oliver Queen will make the jump to the big screen for director Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel sequel.
“Hey Guys — I appreciate all the support and enthusiasm, but not everything I post is a cryptic indicator that I’m going to be in Batman V Superman. I’m not going to be in Batman V Superman.”
Even the fans on the page responded with jokes that fans only hear: “…not everything I post is a cryptic indicator that I’m going to be in Batman V Superman. I’m not going to be in Batman V Superman.”
Amell wasn’t done: “As an aside… The next time that I either do a video or an interview with a journalist that I like, I’ll be happy to explain why this is the case. Short form – it’s not a barometer on ability or the quality of genre – TV V Film, no pun intended. Everything here boils down to logistics. In any event… thank you for how much support you’ve showed me. But keep in mind, playing Arrow on television isn’t a consolation prize. We play the definitive versions of our characters in the DC Universe.”
Jared Neumann wrote: “That’s exactly what you WOULD say if you WERE going to be in Batman v Superman.”
Henry Cavill co-stars with Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg and Ray Fisher.
Also cast are Jason Momoa, Scoot McNairy, Holly Hunter, Laurence Fishburne, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Callan Mulvey, Jeremy Irons, Tao Okamoto and TJ Norris.
