‘Star Wars 8’ will be titled ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ revealed in first poster
Fans are eager to see the follow-up to the record breaking Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Disney knows how to treat the fans: give them the scoop on Star Wars 8.
In a message geared towards the fans came the news of the new film’s title and a teaser poster.
“We have the greatest fans in this or any other galaxy. In appreciation of the fans, we wanted them to be the first to know the title of the next chapter in the Skywalker saga: STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI
THE LAST JEDI is written and directed by Rian Johnson and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman and executive produced by J.J. Abrams, Jason McGatlin, and Tom Karnowski.
STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI is scheduled for release December 15, 2017.”
Like Luke, Rey has been pulled into a bigger world by connecting with the Force, “but part of what’s she’s dealing with is the realization that she has this power and this gift,” Johnson has said of the new film. “She’s taking her first step to coming to terms with this thing inside her that she never knew was there and is just starting to reveal its potential.”
“I think – maybe this is such a general answer but you know – humanity. Even though it’s very much a blockbuster movie, there was no taking that for granted and that we were forced to be general. There was a lot of plot points that we knew were operating in the first one, that we get to explain more in the second one, to make both of them make sense,” Adam Driver teased about Kylo Ren in the new film, likely contrasting the development of Rey and her interactions with Luke Skywalker.
