Spike Lee attacks ‘Django Unchained’ saying it disrespects his ‘ancestors’
Director Spike Lee is bashing Quentin Tarantino’s new film, “Django Unchained,” without even seeing the movie.
During an interview with VIBE TV, Lee spoke against the film as TMZ’s Christmas coverage has made this a top headline.
“I can’t speak on it ’cause I’m not gonna see it … All I’m going to say is that it’s disrespectful to my ancestors. That’s just me … I’m not speaking on behalf of anybody else.”
Lee later tweeted this message to his fans on social media:
“American Slavery Was Not A Sergio Leone Spaghetti Western.It Was A Holocaust.My Ancestors Are Slaves.Stolen From Africa. I Will Honor Them.”
“Django” tells the tale of a slave, played by Jamie Foxx, who is on a killing spree of slave owners. Some critics are targeting the film and the overuse of the “N-word” which is uttered 110 times.
This wouldn’t be the first time Lee has spewed harsh words against Tarantino.

Spike Lee is a racist. He portrays only a narrow minded version of reality. There were African-American gunslingers in the old west. Lets not argue over Tarantino and his poor vocabulary.
