‘Snitch’ co-star Barry Pepper talks ‘The Lone Ranger,’ chemistry between Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer
While promoting his latest film Snitch with Dwayne Johnson, Barry Pepper talked about his role and working on this summer tentpole film The Lone Ranger.
During the interview with Collider, Pepper began by praising Johnny Depp, director Gore Verbinski and the experience.
“It was great man. That was sort of a unique experience for me. True Grit was probably as close to that fun of a genre that I’ve experienced. It was just so big, the scale was so big. Trains flying off of cliffs, explosions, gunfights, towns we built all over the southwest… locations are spectacular, characters wild and crazy.”
Pepper discusses the chemistry between Depp’s Tonto and the Ranger, played by Armie Hammer.
“I think Armie and Johnny have a really great dynamic together. It really spins those two iconic characters on their head.I thought it was really cool to see Johnny take on that character, being of Cherokee blood…”

The film also stars Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, James Badge Dale, Ruth Wilson and Helena Bonham Carter.
“The Lone Ranger” is set to be released July 3, 2013.
