‘Sleepy Hollow’ season 4 will not have Jessica Camacho, Lance Gross
Season 4 of Sleepy Hollow will be significantly different as Tom Mison’s Ichabod Crane will be without two more cast members EW confirmed news that Lance Gross and Jessica Camacho will not be returning to Fox’s supernatural drama as series regulars.
TVLine was first to report the news of Gross and Camacho’s departures, now verified.
Gross plays FBI boss Daniel Reynolds, the onetime flame of Nicole Beharie’s departed Abbie Mills, while Camacho plays agent Sophie Foster, whose childhood loss motivated her interest in the supernatural. It is possible that Camacho will appear as a guest in the fourth season, which will see Crane (Tom Mison) carrying on the fight against the supernatural after the loss of fellow Witness Abbie.
“It wasn’t an easy decision for them to make. I know that,” Mison said last month on the exit of co-star Beharie.
“The writers… they like writing Abbie Mills and I like acting with Nicole, but it was a decision that had to be made and I don’t know the machinations of the politics behind it, but there you go.”
Mison’s Ichabod Crane carries on without Abbie.
“I always thought of Ichabod as the sidekick,” he said. “Abbie is the one the audience can relate to so when you’re entering this insane world of Sleepy Hollow, you go with Abbie. She’s been the guide and Ichabod is this insane man in the periphery.”
In addition to Beharie, Gross, and Camacho, the show also moves forward without season 3 regulars Zach Appelman (Joe Corbin), Nikki Reed (Betsy Ross), and Shannyn Sossamon (Pandora).
Beharie landed a role in the Jacob’s Ladder remake with Jesse Williams, so don’t expect her back soon with a weird supernatural twist. That said, don’t be surprised if Abbie returns in a mid-season tease or appearance.
