‘Sleepy Hollow’ season 4 set at Fox, Nikki Reed rumored to be ‘out’

Sleepy Hollow will carry on as Fox has renewed the favorite drama for a fourth season, but the network didn’t reveal much about the fourth season. Some of the returning cast was confirmed: Tom Mison will definitely be back as Ichabod Crane, with Lyndie Greenwood, Lance Gross and Jessica Camacho.

While nothing on Sleepy Hollow is set in stone, especially death, it is presumed that the show will move forward without its original star Nicole Beharie, whose character Abbie Mills died in the season three finale. It would be almost impossible to bring her back as a surprise, because the news would almost certainly leak.

Will Abbie stay dead?

Also missing from the list is Nikki Reed, who joined the show as a series regular in season three as Betsy Ross. Ichabod’s ex, as her storyline concluded, at the end of season three. Reed will not return as a series regular.

“The finale featuring the tragic death of Abbie Mills was a very dramatic ending and a bold move for the show, Sleepy Hollow has always been known for its shocking finales,” the studio, network and producers said in a statement.

“We feel we provided a wonderfully poignant conclusion for Abbie and showed some of the best moments between the Witnesses that we’ve seen on-screen. We thank Nicole Beharie for bringing Abbie and Sleepy Hollow to life. We are currently discussing season four, and should the series be picked up for another season, we have some exciting scenarios and new avenues we want to explore.”

In addition to Beharie and Reed, Zach Appelman is also not returning as a series regular for the fourth season, after his character Joe Corbin died in one of the final episodes of season three.

In its announcement about the renewal, Fox promised another season of “supernatural creatures, inexplicable events and the search for the truth about the lives of Witnesses.”

Two out of these three will be back for season 4 of “Sleepy Hollow”
