Simon Kinberg confirms filming dates for ‘Gambit’ ‘Deadpool’ sequel, new ‘X-Men’ films

While X-Men: Apocalypse may have had mixed responses, a number of superhero films are in development over at 20th Century Fox that take place within the same universe and Simon Kinberg gave fans an update on the various projects.

Speaking with the folks at That Hashtag Show at the Saturn Awards, Kinberg teased the next few films.

“The first thing up, we’re shooting the Wolverine movie right now and we start shooting Deadpool 2 at the beginning of next year, then I sit down and start writing the next of the mainline X-Men movies.”

While Ryan Reynolds will be back, a new creative team will be working on the Deadpool sequel: Drew Goddard on the script and popular stunt coordinator David Leitch hired to direct.

Channing Tatum was attached to the Gambit project, but delay after delay plagues the film.

“We have a great script on that and hope to shoot that movie at the beginning of spring of next year,” Kinberg says.
