Shreveport, Louisana: Grundy Johnson Jr identified as victim in homicide case

Shreveport Police detectives are seeking  information following the discovery of a body shot and killed early Sunday morning.

Grundy Johnson Jr., 51, has been identified as the man police found dead from a gunshot wound just after 7:30 a.m.

Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to an EMS call in the 100 block of Hamilton Street where they discover Johnson dead on the ground. They are unclear how long the body had been there.

KSLA spoke to the friend who discovered Johnson’s body and phoned police.

“I found him this morning when I pulled up,” said the acquaintance, who asked not to be identified. “I always come over here and check on my auntie before I go to work. And I pulled up and he was laying there.”

The interview with the outlet continued as friends knew the man as JoJo and are trying to find the reason or reasons someone would want to harm him.

“That’s something we all trying to figure out, why would somebody do this to him,” Johnson’s acquaintance recalled.

“He was a good fella.”

University Health will be handling Johnson’s autopsy, according to police as the investigation remains open and treated as a homicide.

Crimestoppers is offering a reward of $1,000 dollars for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. Contact Crimestoppers at (318) 673-7373 or visit P3tips.com to leave an anonymous tip online.
