Sharilyn Ketola identified as woman killed in Olympia murder suicide, shot by James Wavrin, who also shot their pet
Police have identified a man and woman dead after a murder suicide in Olympia, Washington on Friday. Police Lt. Paul Lower confirmed that Sharilyn M. Ketola was shot and killed by her live-in boyfriend, James R. Wavrin, who murdered Sharilyn and their family pet.
Officers responded to the scene, in the 2000 block of Cooper Crest St NW, on Friday at about 8:45 a.m. after someone from a private residence callled 911 and disconnected without saying anything.
Police saw Ketola, 67, with blood around her, dead in the kitchen from a gunshot wound. Wavrin, 666, of Olympia, was dead from a self-inflicted gun shot wound. A shot gun was found next to his body.
Lower said the man and woman, who lived together, were not known to local police.
