No one is oblivious to the huge female fan following of  Shahrukh Khan. The actor has also maintained and often talked about the role of women in his success and in his life. On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Shahrukh Khan has decided to do his bit for them, beginning with his upcoming film, “Chennai Express,” reports TOI on March 7.

The star has decided that with “Chennai Express” his name will not appear on the credits first. Traditionally in Bollywood, the credits features the male star followed by the leading lady and the rest of the cast and crew. However, in “Chennai Express,” Deepika Padukone’s name will be featured first.

To commemorate International Women’s Day, he will also be starring in a short film directed by R. Balki on women’s rights. The film is a part of Tata Tea’s new initiative called Women First.

SRK talked about his association with the campaign and said, “In the wake of increasing crimes against women across the country, one can only expect that such support from noted names goes a long way in driving home a positive message, and brings change in the society.”

The short film will be released on International Women’s Day, March 8.
