The multi-faceted Farhan Akhtar has tied with Indian Premier League to promote a noble cause, called MARD (Men against Rape and Discrimination). The purpose is to spread awareness about gender inequality and rape through social media.

As a part of the campaign, Akhtar will be distributing 70 thousand mustaches in one of the matches between Shahrukh Khan’s team Kolkata Knight Riders and Priety Zinta’s Kings 11 Punjab, to be held at Eden Gardens on April 26. Everyone in the huge stadium would be sporting a mustache in support the cause.

Akhtar tweeted pictures of Shahrukh Khan and Preity Zinta shooting for the campaign. To show his acceptance for the project, Shah Rukh Khan is seen spotting a handlebar mustache.

Farhan Akhtar has been using his Twitter profile to raise awareness. Recently, the 39-year-old urged his fans to become “ambassadors.” He wrote, “You have to adopt the message and become its ambassadors. It can only spread as a pyramid effect through you.”
