Seth MacFarlane blasts ‘Duck Dynasty’ and Robertson beliefs

Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane accepted the Louis XIII Genius Award at Sunday night’s Critics’ Choice Awards and he readily acknowledges how ridiculous that sounds.

“The word ‘genius’ gets thrown around a lot, which is good because otherwise I probably wouldn’t be getting this,” MacFarlane said in his acceptance speech, adding that “being called a genius in Hollywood is kind of like being called thin at Disneyland.”

Duck Dynasty Phil Robertson photo“Let’s also not forget, I’m being called a genius on the network that airs Duck Dynasty,” he added of A&E, which broadcasted the ceremony. “This is a show whose cast members believe hurricanes are caused by gay marriage. I wish I were joking.”

Phil Robertson and the Robertson family are devout Christians and Phil has riled many critics with his remarks against gay marriage, homosexuality and other sinful behavior.
