SDCC 2016: Tom Hiddleston takes on King Kong in ‘Kong Skull Island’ trailer
Saturday proved to be a frenzy of new movie trailers for the fans as San Diego Comic Con. Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, John Goodman, Corey Hawkins and Jason Mitchell joined director Jordan Vogt-Roberts in Hall H for a preview of Warner Bros. Kong: Skull Island.
Check out the new trailer below.
“This planet doesn’t belong to us,” Goodman’s Randa says. “I’ve spent 30 years trying to prove the truth — monsters exist.”
The new Kong is said to be a monster 100-feet tall, setting up a toe-to-toe battle Godzilla, which is sort of evident in a couple of brief shots before the climax. Check out the poster below.
I love the line: “You don’t go into someone’s house unless you’re picking a fight.”
Skull Island also stars Samuel L. Jackson, John C. Reilly, Tian Jing, John Ortiz, Thomas Mann, Shea Whigham, Toby Kebbell, and Eugene Cordero.
Kong: Skull Island opens in theaters on March 10, 2017.
Godzilla versus King Kong is currently slated for 2020.
Here’s the official synopsis for Kong: Skull Island:
Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ “Kong: Skull Island” reimagines the origin of the mythic Kong in a compelling, original adventure from director Jordan Vogt-Roberts. In the film, a diverse team of explorers is brought together to venture deep into an uncharted island in the Pacific—as beautiful as it is treacherous—unaware that they’re crossing into the domain of the mythic Kong.
