Scott Sterling, age 32, reportedly had not been seen by family or friends for at least two days, according to an L.A. County Sheriff’s Department spokesman.
No one else was at the home when the body was discovered, according to the sheriff’s department.
“Sheriff’s homicide and Los Angeles County coroner’s personnel at this time believe that Sterling died of an apparent drug overdose,” the statement said.
The death appeared to be accidental, but an autopsy was planned to determine the exact cause of death.
The younger Sterling was not involved with the Clippers, according to the team’s 2012-13 media guide.
