Scott Parks cast as Silas in ‘Vampire Diaries,’ likely key to ‘Vampire Diaries’ season 5

The Vampire Diaries has cast the role of antagonist Silas, who will finally appears as his self, likely to be key in season 5.

The CW confirmed that actor Scott Parks will play the series villain, who up until now has appeared in the show by taking on the form of other characters.

Parks’s most recent role was that of a TAC team agent in an episode of Homeland, reports Entertainment Weekly.

In recent episodes, Vampire Diaries fans have seen dreaded witch and vampire Silas pose in the bodies of both Shane (David Alpay) and Caroline (Candice Accola).

In January, it was revealed that the show’s producers are planning a spin-off called The Originals which will follow the character of Klaus (Joseph Morgan).

An upcoming episode of The Vampire Diaries due to air on April 25 will act as a ‘backdoor pilot’ for the potential spin-off.
