Saye Yabandeh talks ‘Silk’ ‘Blunt Force,’ her film festival advice and life in Iran

Saye-5In a short time she’s an actress, producer and film festival organizer so The Global Dispatch was thrilled to get to speak with Saye Yabandeh about her many projects.

After working on 5th and Alameda with Mario Van Peebles, Saye tells Dispatch Radio about the incredible reaction and recognition at The Beverly Hills Film Festiva and prompting her to develop the The Action on Film International Film Festival.

Saye just completed work on Silk and Terrorist Anonymous, two shorts with vastly different tones and messages. Saye details her motivation and the message behind these projects.

Silk was close to my heart,” she begins as she discusses a very difficult topic and issue in India and other countries. “You feel fulfilled.”

One of the most interesting topics discusses in the interview is her life’s journey from Iran. Being a doctor or lawyer is the norm, she says, but to strive to act is something completely different. That said, you’ll hear the drive and internal spirit which motivated Saye at a very young age to push beyond the stereotype and limitations to achieve her dream.
