Samuel L Jackson talks ‘Incredible 2’ Frozone’s role and what Jack Jack becomes

Director Brad Bird has been quiet on a sequel to The Incredibles, avoiding spoilers and wanted to be careful not to reveal too much so as not to turn the film into “a footnote or commentary on the current state of the superhero genre,” according to CrossMap.

With that said, Samuel L. Jackson revealed that his character Lucius Best a.k.a. “Frozone” will be re-appearing in Incredibles 2, which might be released sometime in 2017.”Everytime I run into Brad, he always tells me Frozone is part of what’s going on [in the sequel], so I have to believe that. I guess they could be The Incredibles without Frozone, but I think Frozone would be a wonderful addition to what’s already there,” Jackson said.

“I’m looking forward to what Jack-Jack turned into,” the Avengers star added, referring to the baby boy in film, noting the sequel will be set 11 years into the future.

Some rumors claim that The Incredibles 2 will revolve around Jack-Jack who just might turn out to be the most powerful member of the superhero family. However, a dark force might try to manipulate the boy and take advantage of his inability to control his powers.

Bird has stated that the new movie will focus more on “character” and “family.”

“For me, the interesting thing was never the superhero part of it. It was more the family dynamic, and how do superhero things play into that. So [Incredibles 2] is a step further in that direction,” the director said, according to MoviePilot.

He pointed out that a film’s success at the box-office doesn’t merely depend on its line-up of superheroes but more importantly, on the “human element.”

The Incredibles is very grounded and relatable. Instead of gods and epic mythology, sacrifice and huge explosions, the majority of the film focusses on a life after heroic deeds. When sometimes the bravest thing you can do is to stick it out at a boring job so you can go home to your family,” MoviePilot said in its report.
