Samaritan’s Purse update: Dr. Brantly takes ‘slight turn for the worse’

Dr. Kent Brantly and Nancy Writebol are in stable but grave condition, the Christian Relief organization, Samaritan’s Purse posted on their Facebook page earlier today.

However, the organization also reported that Dr. Brantly took a slight turn for the worse overnight.

It doesn’t appear the ill health of the 33-year-old family practice physician has affected his faith and charity, as Samaritan’s Purse President, Franklin Graham noted, “Yesterday, an experimental serum arrived in the country, but there was only enough for one person. Dr. Brantly asked that it be given to Nancy Writebol.

“However, Dr. Brantly received a unit of blood from a 14-year-old boy who had survived Ebola because of Dr. Brantly’s care. The young boy and his family wanted to be able to help the doctor that saved his life.”

Samaritan’s Purse continues to ask for prayers for Kent and Nancy and all those who are affected by Ebola, and the tremendous group of doctors and nurses who are caring for them.
