Sam Nunberg shames Sarah Huckabee Sanders as a ‘fat slob’ and now ‘apologizes’
In the wake of Special Counsel Robert Mueller issuing a subpoena to appear before a grand jury, former Trump campaign aide Sam Nunberg had a shocking meltdown, attacking White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
Sanders, on Monday, downplayed Nunberg’s campaign role and said he has a “lack of knowledge” about its inner workings. “She’s a joke,” Nunberg rebutted. “Okay, fine, yeah, she’s unattractive, she’s a fat slob. But that’s unrelevant [sic]. The person she works for has a 30-percent approval rating.”
“So if she wants to start attacking me, she can do that. That’s fine. But we know it’s a joke. Everyone knows it’s a joke that she’s working there.”
“You can’t think of anything more intelligent to say? It reflects poorly on the person who makes the personal accusation,” former GOP New York Lt. Gov. Betsy McCaughey said. “Sarah is one tough cookie. She’s a competent woman. I have enormous respect for her.”
Now Nunberg is floating an apology: “Sarah’s very talented,” Nunberg told The Daily Caller, the morning after his remarks.
“It was a rude comment. I understand she was just doing her job, and I think she does a very good job under rough circumstances… I owe her an apology. I was having a rough day.”
After insisting that he wouldn’t spend “80 hours” sifting through his emails to comply with Mueller’s subpoena as Nunberg said he is now in the process of “sifting through and copying his emails”—crediting MSNBC guest Professor Maya Wiley for convincing him to do so while on-air.
He stated that he still “doesn’t know” if he’ll show up to the grand jury scheduled on Friday. Nunberg’s media meltdown on Tuesday came after The Washington Post dropped a story saying he would “refuse” to comply with Mueller’s subpoena.
