Sacha Dhawan reunites with Steven Moffat, Mark Gatiss for role in ‘Sherlock’ season 4
Sherlock is adding another new character for season 4, reportedly casting Sacha Dhawan as a character named AJ.
Rumors of Dhawan joining Sherlock season 4 came about after a leaked copy of his resume from Troika Talents agency surfaced online. According to reports, the leaked resume lists Dhawan’s AJ role in Sherlock season 4, and, while the said supposed role of Dhawan was already removed from the list of his Troika resume, a screenshot of which continues to circulate online.
Neither BBC nor anybody has denied nor commented on the news derived from the leaked resume, but naysayers believe the veracity of the report, citing that the actor has previously worked with Sherlock co-creators Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss.
Sherlock season 4 started filming, information back in April with Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) back in Britain, while Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman) and his wife Mary (Amanda Abbington), who are preparing themselves for their roles as first-time parents.
“I can’t wait for everyone to see season four. But you will have to wait… though not for long… And it will be worth it,” said Cumberbatch.
“Sherlock series four – here we go again! Whatever else we do, wherever we all go, all roads lead back to Baker Street – and it always feels like coming home. Ghosts of the past are rising in the lives of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson bringing adventure, romance and terror in their wake. This is the story we’ve been telling from the beginning. A story about to reach its climax,” teased Gatiss and Moffat in an official press release.
In 2013, Dhawan portrayed the role of Waris Hussein, Doctor Who‘s original director, for the dramatization of the said show’s sci-fi origins. The said show was titled “An Adventure in Space and Time,” which was written by Gatiss and directed by Moffat. It was a tribute to the Doctor Who golden anniversary celebrations.
Sherlock is expected to return to BBC for its season 4 run on New Year’s Day 2017.
