Roxanne Mitchem, Jessica Fowler identified in North Carolina murder suicide, killed by David Covington
Police are now detailing a North Carolina murder suicide, identifying the victims as a wife threatened by her killer and estranged husband, David Christopher Covington, who threatened to murder her: “leave their home in a body bag.”
That woman, Roxanne Auton Mitchem, 32, was found dead on the property in Hickory a little past 9 p.m. with another woman, Jessica Rose Fowler, 34, both dead of a gunshot wounds.
Covington, 37, murdered the pair on Monday and then turned the weapon on himself.
Authorities also identified Dorrian Doral Pearson, 32, another victim who fled the residence on foot after he had been shot multiple times. Officers found him on a nearby street, injured from the wounds he had sustained in the shooting.

Two small children were inside the home at the time of the incident but were uninjured, police added.
No charges are pending, though the case remains under investigation, say police.
In 2010, Covington accused his wife of harassment, the court records show. The following year, Roxanne accused David of grabbing her so hard that he left bruises on her arm. She asked the court for an order of domestic violence protection. Her request was denied.
The court records also contained an eerie Facebook message Covington wrote, the outlet reports.
The post says, “I couldn’t by [sic] with her just for a child..I love the kid but not her…that wouldn’t be a happy home..one of us would have been leaving in a body bag and it [expletive] show [sic] wouldn’t have beed [sic] me! Lol!”, WCNC reports.
