Rosario Dawson cast as Batgirl voice for ‘Lego Batman’ film
Rosario Dawson is returning for the second season of Marvel’s Daredevil Netflix series and now is confirmed to be joining Warner Bros’ Lego Batman, voicing Batgirl. Back is Will Arnett as the Dark Knight from The Lego Movie and Michael Cera is also joining as the voice of Robin.
THR broke the news of the Lego Batman Rosario Dawson casting, confirming that the star “will voice Barbara Gordon, the daughter of police commissioner James Gordon who later becomes the crime-fighting heroine Batgirl.”
Zach Galifianakis has been tapeed as the voice of the Joker.
Chris McKay, who served as animation supervisor on The Lego Movie, is directing Lego Batman from a script by Seth Grahame-Smith.
Lego Movie helmers Phil Lord and Chris Miller are producing along with Dan Lin and Roy Lee.
Dawson currently plays the key role of Claire Temple in Marvel’s Netflix shows. She first appeared in Daredevil and is confirmed to return for both Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. She also voiced Wonder Woman in Justice League: Throne of Atlantis and Artemis in Wonder Woman, both direct-to-video animated features based on DC comics.
The Lego Batman movie arrives February 10, 2017.
